mEET nICOLE
Born and raised in the beautiful coastal town of Whitby, North Yorkshire, Nicole's movement journey started aged four. Sixteen years later this would go on to give her a firm foundation in classically trained dance.
Inspired by her late grandmother Mrs Mallette, who taught weekly Iyengar classes, Nicoles introduction to yoga began here at the age of eight. Nicole would occasionally attend the classes and watch in amazement as her grandmother directed the room with grace and ease.

Thereafter movement, education and wellness have always been consistent throughout Nicole’s life.

Nicole began instructing Les Mills Body Balance alongside her nine to five as a means for release, then further discovering in her own practice the Jivamukti yoga method in 2019. The depth found in yoga as a mindful practice has assisted Nicole to continue training, now directly within the field of yoga and use her creative energy to help others.

After an extended internal practice and education in both Yin yoga and meditation, Nicole now offers a regular Yin class schedule. Her goal moving forward is to be of service and share with others our true potential.

Nicole has a deep gratitude for all the teachings she has and is still discovering on her journey, and the teachers that have facilitated this.
YIN IS IN
Yin Yoga is a passive practice designed to sooth and calm the body, mind & soul, subsequently allowing for a longer and more comfortable meditation sitting.
Yin postures are practiced in line with the Ancient Science of Yoga the 'Three Bodies' .

-
A casual body of thought and belief
-
An astral body of emotion and desire
-
A physical body of material substance

A Yin practice is mostly floor based, with positions which are held for longer periods of time. Healthy stress is applied to the fascia (connective tissue) of the body which allows stretching and hydration through the natural production of hyaluronic acid. In turn this helps to keep the energy body youthful and additionally stimulates the major energetic highways of the system (meridians).

The aim of Yin is increased circulation, joint strength and mobility, and improved flexibility to the overall physical body. It allows space to quieten the mind and heal. By the removal of blockages, the practice can encourage deeper sleep and reduce stress by relaxing the nervous system and returning us to our natural state of peace and tranquility.
